Hergy
Pastor Richard Hergesheimer (Hergy) retired to the Sunshine Coast in the summer of 2013 following more than 30 years of parish ministry in Vancouver. He and his wife, Trudy, have two sons (and their families), one of whom lives on the Coast and the other in East Vancouver. Following his "first" retirement, Hergy elected to take on what his spouse refers to as his "encore career" and began serving Living Faith as a temporary "fill-in" and then "interim" part-time pastor in the fall of 2017. Although that fluid and rather uncertain status still defines his ministry to, with, and among the good people of Living Faith, Hergy is quite happy and content to offer his experience, time and gifts to a faith community where all are welcome and accepted just as they are--in the same way that he is accepted just as he is despite his age, wrinkles, bald head and poor hearing. For all of that and much more, he is grateful, both to God and to the people of God who do their best to be Christ's hands, feet, eyes and ears in their daily lives. |
