Our Mission
The mission of this church, as an expression of the universal Church and as an instrument of the Holy Spirit, is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people in Canada and around the world through proclamation of the Word, celebration of the sacraments, and through service in Christ's name. God's grace and unconditional love calls us to be a diverse, inclusive community that celebrates all and upholds life-giving relationships.
We are Lutheran
Lutheran Church dates back to the Protestant Reformation in 16th century Germany and gets its name from Martin Luther. Lutheranism is a branch of the Christian Church rooted in the scriptures, refined by our confessional documents, and defined by our fatih in the Triune God, who is loving, forgiving, and filled with endless grace.
We are a congregation of the BC Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada consists of 490+ member congregations, five regional synods, and a national church organization with offices in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The British Columbia Synod is a regional expression of the ELCIC that serves and connects together over 40 member congregations throughout the entire province.
